Institute of Management Control and Accounting

Welcome

Thank you very much for visiting our website. The Institute of Management Control and Accounting was founded in 2008 and forms part of the School of Management Sciences and Technology. Most of our students are enrolled in engineering related programs. Our main focus in teaching is to equip them with knowledge about management control and accounting relevant for their future careers. In addition to establishing an understanding of relevant instruments and techniques for management control and accounting, we emphasize a behavioral perspective. We aim at sharpening the power of judgment in our students with respect to the applicability and application of management control instruments.

Such an education can only be offered successfully if it is based on high-quality and innovative research. As reflected in our teaching focus, our research focuses on investigating instruments of management control and their impact on human behavior. Computer simulations represent the main research method that is often applied in combination with other empirical methods. For best results, many projects are carried out in close cooperation with nationally and internationally renowned partners from the academic as well as the corporate world.

In order to stimulate the knowledge transfer between science and practice, we plan on working closely with both private organizations and institutions from the public sector. We are more than happy to share our skills and knowledge with you by giving speeches or as part of training programs or consulting projects.

Thank you very much for your interest in our work. We are looking forward to hearing from you.

Yours,
Prof. Dr. habil. Matthias Meyer
